Rock Hill, SC - Mr. Roger Snow Trimnal, 83, passed away on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at his home.
Roger was born at home to Thomas Woodrow Trimnal and Virginia Louise Blue, on January 23, 1940, during an uncommon winter storm. His middle name came from the first thing he saw; the falling snow. Roger was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving in many different volunteer and leadership positions, including his cherished service as a full-time missionary in Chile and the Andes Mission. He had a deep passion for history, genealogy and the Catawba people. Roger graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor's in sociology and was a lifelong learner. He worked to raise and support nine children with his then wife, Rene Merrill Trimnal.
Surviving is his sister, Carol (Gary) Williams of Idaho Falls, Idaho. He is also survived by his nine children: Jenne (Henry) Kekoolani of Loganville, Georgia, Bob (Cathey) Trimnal of Rock Hill, Joel Bales of Stansbury Park, Utah, Caryn (Hamet) Patel of Kathleen, Georgia, Thom (Mary) Trimnal of Fort Mill, Sam (Kristi) Trimnal of Summerville, Becky (Tou) Magalogo of Payson, Utah, Kathy (Jud) Christensen of Logan, Utah, and Heather (John) Taylor of Springville, Utah. He then had 31 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents and his sister Gloria (Wayne) Bales.
A graveside service will be 11:00 am, Monday, October 23, 2023, at the Catawba Ward Church Cemetery, 1989 Reservation Road, Rock Hill, SC 29730.
