Roger Williams, Sr. of Factoryville, PA died at Allied Hospice Center, Scranton, on February 23, 2026. Roger was born in Tunkhannock, PA on November 22, 1945, the son of the late Thomas Williams and Lucy Champion Williams. Roger married Diana Evans in 1965 and they had four children.
Roger was a 1963 graduate of Tunkhannock High School.
In his younger years, Roger was a house painter. Roger was a Millwright for Local Union 443 (formerly 261) from 1965 until his retirement.
Roger enjoyed reading, genealogy, history, and debating politics.
Roger was preceded in death by his oldest son, Roger Williams Jr., brothers Fred Williams and Thomas “Tucker” Williams, and a sister Alice Novembrino.
In addition to his wife, Roger is survived by a son, Brian Williams (Nona); and daughters Shawn Skovronsky (Steven) and Shannon Williams (Mark Scappatura) and grandchildren Dillan Chewey, Evan Skovronsky, and Owen and Abigail Williams; and four great children Bryn Rose, Loralei, Cameron and Raelynn. Roger is also survived by his siblings, Carl Williams, Sarah Williams and Jean Sorensen, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Sat. Feb. 28th at 11am from the Harding Litwin Funeral Home 123 W. Tioga St. Tunkhannock, Pa. A viewing will be held from 9:30am until the time of the service. Interment will follow at the Vaughn Cemetery Mehoopany.
