Roland (Rollie) Eugene Fassett passed away at his home in Black Hawk, South Dakota, on Saturday, August 9th, 2025. His influence touched the lives of family, friends, and many others; everyone will remember him for his generosity and kindness.
A Life Remembered
Roland was born on January 27th, 1956, to Eugene and Arles Fassett in Rutland, South Dakota. Roland graduated from Madison High School in 1974 and began a successful career in the Commercial painting and drywalling profession. Throughout the years, he won several awards for the remarkable work he completed on some of his commercial job sites.
Those who knew Roland will remember his sarcastic humor, the simplicity in the way he lived life, and his willingness to help others.
Family and Remembrance
Roland is survived by his wife, Roberta Johnson of Rapid City, children, Sara (Paul) Kreun of Sioux Falls and Kyle Fassett of Rapid City. Rollie had five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Arles Fassett, and a sister, Dianne Ammann.
Honoring Roland's Memory
As we mourn Roland Fassett's passing, we also celebrate the countless ways his life made the world a better place. His wisdom, generosity, and the love he shared continue to inspire and guide those who knew him. Through the stories we tell and the lives he touched, Roland's legacy lives on.
