Roland S. Lesniewski

Born March 27, 1930 in Milwaukee Wisconsin. Roland passed away peacefully at home on May 6, 2025 at the age of 95.

Roland held positions at Pfizer, Inc in Milwaukee Wisconsin, American Can Co. in Barrington Research and Development Laboratory and at Abbott Laboratories in their Diagnostic Division. In Retirement he worked part-time at the Geneva Public Library in Technical Services.

He served in the U.S. Army in Germany during the Korean War after which he continued his education at Marquette University where he received his undergraduate degree in Biology in 1956. Then he received a Master's Degree in Microbiology from the University of Wisconsin in 1958.

Roland was known for his involvement in many charitable causes His life was one of service to others. He was also an active member in his church serving in various ministries. He volunteered as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for abused and neglected children where he served for 12 years. Roland had a special devotion in advocating for the many children the Court assigned to him. After leaving CASA, he served as a volunteer at the Youth Center in St. Charles where he tutored in math and languages arts. He loved the boys he was teaching.

Roland survived his beloved wife, Mary, after 59 years of marriage. Surviving are children: Peg (Carl) Malsack of Downers Grove, IL, Bill (April) Lesniewski of Colorado Springs, CO, Peter (Thea) Lesnik of Spring Hill, TN and Paul (Kelli) Owen of New Berlin, WI. He enjoyed the blessings of nine grandchildren Bryan (Stephanie), Kevin, Victoria (Dana), Emma, Sam, Lydia, Emily, Michael and Grace and three great granddaughters, Laurel, Penny, and Shauna. Also, surviving is his brother, Ronald Lester of Milwaukee, WI. Preceding him in death are his wife, Mary, and his parents Alois and Florence Lesniewski.
