Romana L Daniels

Romana Daniels, age 61, of Austin, Texas, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 13th, surrounded by loved ones.
Romana was born on October 29, 1963, in Austin, Texas, to Otis Daniels Sr. and Adell Daniels. She was the fourth of six siblings and grew up in East Austin, where she developed a love for dancing, education, and community service. She attended Pecan Springs Elementary, Dobie Middle School, and graduated from Lanier High School.
After high school, Romana attended Tyler Junior College, where she pursued her passion for education and laid the foundation for a career as a teacher, specifically working with special education students. While at Tyler Junior College, she also became a proud Kappa Sweetheart, supporting the values of scholarship, service, and sisterhood. Romana's life was a testament to faith, love, perseverance, and service. She was raised in the church and began working for the Lord at a very young age.
Family meant everything to Romana. She took great pride in being a devoted mother to her two children, Otis Daniels III and Shanequa Daniels. She instilled in them many values, but above all, she reminded them constantly to "Always keep your head up and GOD first."
Romana had a generous heart and a passion for helping others reach their goals. Whether coaching youth cheer or volunteering at Goodwill, she believed strongly in giving back. A lifelong sports fan, she especially loved cheering for her beloved Dallas Cowboys.
Romana is preceded in death by her parents, Otis Daniels Sr. and Adell Daniels, and her sister, Felicia Daniels.
She is survived by her children, Otis Daniels III (Tamera Davis) and Shanequa Daniels; and her beloved grandchildren: Tyra, Tyron, Dylan, Quaylon, Taylor, Emersyn, and London. She also leaves behind her siblings: Clara Yevone (Douglas Thompson), Otis Daniels Jr., Louria Ann Harrigan (Earl Harrigan), and Nicole Bradford (Kyle Bradford), along with 11 nieces and nephews. Romana is also survived by her devoted partner, Clarence Johnson. She will be dearly missed by a host of other relatives, loved ones, and friends who were touched by her warmth and spirit.
