Ronald L. Bussard, age 77, of Amanda, passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at Fairfield Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 29, 1948, in Lancaster, the son of the late William and Dorothy (Short) Bussard. He was a graduate of Lancaster High School, class of 1966. After graduation, he joined the U.S. Army and served two tours in Vietnam. After his service, he was employed with South Central Power and retired with 40 years of service. He was a member of the Circleville AMVETS Post #2256. "Buzz" enjoyed time spent with family and friends.

He is survived by his children, Shelly (Kirk) Hines of Lancaster and Brad (Chastity) Bussard of Amanda; grandchildren, Kassidy (Dillon) Adkins and Kaitlyn (Tyler) Cummin, Braxton Bussard and Kaden Hines; great granddaughter, Gracelynn Adkins; sister, Judy Ruffner, of Lancaster; special friends, Clarence (Jan) McCoy Sr., Tom Schooley, and Tim (Sheila) Malone; his beloved dog, Gunnar. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Elizabeth "Liz" Bussard.

Cremation has been arranged in the care of Taylor-Theller Funeral Home, Amanda. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 9th, 2026 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to South Central Power Community Foundation, 720 Mill Park Drive, Attn: Accounting, Lancaster, OH 43130, in the memo, write "ORU Scholarship". Donations may also be dropped off at the front desk of the above referenced address.
