Ronald L. Nolen, 75, of Shadyside Ohio passed away on October 14, 2025, in Marietta, Ohio.

Born in Bellaire, Ohio on April 24, 1950, a son of the late Richard and Marilyn (Sechrest) Nolen.

Ronald dedicated his life to his family and his work, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and love.

Ronald's career as a coal miner with Consol Energy was marked by his steadfast commitment and tireless work ethic.

A proud veteran, Ronald served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

Beyond his professional life, Ronald found joy in the simple pleasures of the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed boating and camping, often sharing these pastimes with family and friends. His love for nature was evident in the countless hours he spent in peaceful reflection by the water's edge.

He was an avid reader, especially drawn to western novels that transported him to the rugged landscapes of the American frontier. His love for storytelling and adventure was a testament to his enduring spirit.

Ronald was also a respected member of the Shadyside American Legion Post 521, where he formed lasting friendships and continued to serve his community with the same dedication he showed throughout his life.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Shayne Nolen and a brother, John Nolen.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 29 years, Linda Ann Satty Nolen, children; Bruce (Janet) Dunn, Marc (Kristy) Nolen, Ron (Jill) Nolen Jr., step children; Scott (Paula) Seitz and Heather (Jennifer Mettler) Seitz, brothers; Richard and Edward Nolen, thirteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, many dear friends, a very close friend, Rusty Higgins, sister in law, Barbara (Russell) Stewart as well as his mother in law, Irene Satty.

Family and friends will be recieved on Friday October 17, 2025 from 10am until time of service at 1pm at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Home, 441 37th Street Bellaire Ohio 43906. Interment to follow in Powhatan Cemetery.
