Of Elizabeth Township, age 79, passed away peacefully in his home on Monday, September 15, 2025, after 20-year bout with squamous cell tongue/throat cancer.

Ron was born on August 12, 1946, in Braddock, the son of the late Peter and late Betty Anderchak.

Ron was the beloved husband of Carla Anderchak for 55 years.

He was loving father of Craig (Lisa) Anderchak of Atlanta

Ron was the dear brother of Loretta (late Albie) Antimary of North Versailles.

He was the uncle of Aaron (Lauryn) Antimary, Lindsay Antimary, Matthew (Heather) Lieberum, Angela (Shawn) Ruby, Jerry, Joyce and Timothy Coulter.

He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Joani Ashton and many cousins.

Ron was a 1964 graduate of McKeesport High School and attended both Penn State University and Robert Morris University from where he earned an associate degree.

He served in the United States Army from 1965 to 1968 earning the National Defense Service Medal.

Ron began his career in 1968 with Westinghouse Transportation Corporation in West Mifflin, PA. In the first 22 years of his career, he was responsible for manufacturing the wiring components on the Westinghouse C-100 People Mover which found success in some of the largest airports across the globe. The Westinghouse Sky Bus was the predecessor of the Westinghouse C-100 People Mover.

In 1990, Ron was promoted and transitioned to Field Site Maintenance and Operations for the company and relocated to Atlanta, GA. as part of the Operations and Maintenance on site leadership team for the People Mover system at Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport (Plane Train).

In 1992, Ron was promoted to Field Site Director and enjoyed long term assignments at International Airports in Miami, Orlando, and Atlanta before returning home to Pittsburgh in 2008. Westinghouse Transportation was sold to AEG to become Adtranz in 1996. In 2001, Adtranz was sold to Bombardier Transportation. Ron retired in 2014 with 46 years of service. Throughout his career, Ron has had the pleasure of successfully leading teams and client partnerships in West Mifflin, Atlanta, Miami, Orlando, and in Pittsburgh. Many of his past colleagues in Pittsburgh and throughout the country remained good friends throughout his life.

Ron was a leader with the Boy Scouts of America and served as a Pack Leader with the Cub Scouts and an Assistant Scout Master with Troop 679 1985 – 1989.

He was a proud member of St. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church in Duquesne.

Ron enjoyed hunting and fishing but mostly he relished spending time with his family.

All are welcome on Friday from 2-4 & 6-8pm at the Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 700 Linden Ave. at Cable, East Pittsburgh, (412) 824-8800 where a Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m.

Interment with military honors will follow at Monongahela Cemetery.

Ron's family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Hempfield Manor in Greensburg for the care Ron received while in the Hospice program.
