Ronald Paul Auvil, 85, of Hot Springs Village, passed away peacefully at home on September 23, 2023. He was born December 28, 1937 in Grafton, West Virginia to parents Harvey and Eva Zora Auvil. The family moved to Middletown, Ohio where Ron graduated from Monroe High School and attended Miami of Ohio University. He also served in the Ohio National Guard and was a big Ohio State Buckeye fan.
Ron worked for 35 years at Packaging Corporation of America which later became Tenneco Packaging. He worked in many different locations with the company over the years including Ohio, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas, Florida, and Illinois. Through hard work and dedication, he was promoted to top management positions and received many awards for his efforts. Ron met his wife, Diedre, at the Arlington, Texas plant. They were married in 1992.
Ron retired in 1998 and he and Diedre moved to Hot Springs Village. They joined Christ of the Hills United Methodist Church in 1999 and he was a very active member for many years. He loved his church and was a very devout Christian.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Vic Auvil and Jack Auvil.
Survivors include his loving wife, Diedre Auvil, son Ronald P. Auvil II (Mea) of Kingsport, TN, Diedre's children Kimberly Elmore (Charlie) of Arlington, TX and Christopher Fanning (Arleen) of El Paso, IX and 6 grandchildren. He was a loving, caring, unselfish husband, father, and grandpa and he will be greatly missed!
