Ronald Edward Beaudoin, age 67, of Trout Lake, Michigan, died on September 27, 2025, at The University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He was born on December 29, 1957, in Okinawa, Japan, to Robert and Hatsuko (Higa) Beaudoin. Ron grew up as a proud "military brat," moving often during his childhood, but ultimately found his home in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. He worked for the Michigan Department of Corrections until his retirement. Never one to sit still, Ron continued working, spending winters at Smithers, and summers caring for the beauty and upkeep of Trout Lake's landscape. He was also the former owner of the Trout Lake Resort, a place fondly remembered by many across the EUP. Known for his contagious laugh, quick wit, and endless stories, Ron brought joy and humor to every room he entered. He was a devoted sports fan, faithfully cheering on the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Lions, and University of Michigan football. Spring training trips with friends and family were among his favorite traditions, and those who knew him well could often find him passionately hollering at the television during a big game. Ron held deep pride in calling the U.P., and especially Trout Lake, his home. He cherished time with family and friends, playing Euchre, or simply relaxing with a good television show. Of all the roles Ron held in life, the one he cherished most was being a father. He was deeply proud of his two daughters, who meant the world to him, and he treasured every moment spent with them, along with his granddaughter. Ron is survived by his daughters, Lea Corwin of Baltimore, Maryland, and Taylor (Camron) VanSpronsen of Otsego, Michigan; granddaughter, Kaley Corwin; and siblings, Bobby Beaudoin of Texas, Oliver Beaudoin of Florida, Anna (Tom) Robison of Michigan, Trisha Donaghue of Wisconsin, Linda (Alex) Radar of Michigan, Linda (George) Joseph of Florida, Neil Beaudoin of Michigan, and Dougald Beaudoin of Michigan. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Hatsuko; and niece, Emiley Barrett. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 11:00 AM, at Family Life Funeral Homes, 999 S. State St., St. Ignace, MI 49781. Ron's final resting place will be Trout Lake Lakeview Cemetery, in Trout Lake, Michigan.
