Ronald Wayne Bennett, 70, of Hilton, NY passed away on January 20, 2024, surrounded by his family.
He was born on September 2, 1953 to Carlton and Mary Bennett. Ron lived his rambunctious young life in Obi, NY with his four siblings, Robert, Rosanne, Rebecca and Rachel, along with many aunts, uncles and cousins nearby. Growing up he most enjoyed playing soccer.
Ron married Lois on July 28, 1973. He served 6 years in the US Army. During his service, he received the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Driver Mechanic Badge and Sharpshooter (Rifle). They then returned to Shinglehouse, PA. He and Lois were blessed with their only daughter, Ronni in 1989. Ron was promoted to "Grandpa" when Isaac arrived in 2009. Forever proud of his daughter and grandson. as they were his greatest accomplishment.
Ron was strong-willed and stubborn at times, but he also had an enormous heart and wonderful sense of humor. He was generous, loyal and brave. He was clever and full to the brim with knowledge gained through all of his life experiences.
Ron is survived by his wife, Lois Bennett, daughter, Ronni (Chris Armstrong) Bennett, grandson, Isaac Bennett, brother, Robert (Cathy) Bennett, sisters, Rosanne Bennett, Rebecca (Scott) Baldwin and Rachel (Robert) Coss. He was preceded in death by his father Carlton Bennett and mother Mary Bennett.
A celebration of life will occur with details to be determined.
