Ronald A. Bisson, Sr., 83, of Minnetonka, MN, passed away on February 8, 2024, surrounded by family. Ron was born to Arthur and Margaret Bisson on October 8, 1940, in Pipestone, MN, as the oldest of 13 children. He grew up working on the farm in Jasper, began his education in a one-room schoolhouse, and graduated from Jasper High School in 1958. He went on to St. John's University in Collegeville, MN while participating in ROTC, and graduated in 1962 with a degree in Economics. He then served in the U.S. Army for two and a half years on active duty, and continued for 20 years in the Army Reserves. His main post was at the U.S. Embassy in Paris, and his assignments included travel to many European and Middle Eastern countries, which sparked his lifelong love of travel. In July 1964, while home on leave from France, Ron met the love of his life, Anne Hunter, who was a student nurse at McKennan hospital in Sioux Falls, SD, where he was receiving care. After returning from Europe, he and Anne married at St. Joseph's Cathedral in Sioux Falls on February 19, 1966, and soon after moved to the Twin Cities. Ron worked at The St. Paul Companies for 34 years, where he enjoyed many wonderful relationships with colleagues and clients. However, family and faith were the center of Ron's life. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He had a calm and peaceful presence and was always willing to offer help and guidance. Ron served as a role model and inspiration to many as he lived his life of deep faith, integrity, hard work, and love. He enjoyed being outside working in the yard, recounting his travels, and watching football with a bowl of popcorn in his recliner. He was an active member of St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church (formerly St. Joseph's) in Hopkins, serving as a Befriender, Lector, Eucharistic Minister, Fall Festival volunteer, and in the Adoration Chapel. He was a wise, caring, and gentle soul, and will be dearly missed.
Ron is preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Anne, his parents Art & Margaret, and sister Joan Larson. He is survived by his five children: Ron Jr., Stephanie Belseth (Dave), Mary (Rudi Oss), John (Shibani), & Katie (Tyler Robinson); grandchildren: Elizabeth & Anna Oss; Sophia, Ben & Jacob Belseth; Arjun & Maya Bisson; & Isabel, Clara & Sylvie Robinson; siblings Carl, Elizabeth Dockstader, Mary Knewtson, Roberta, Peter, Veronica Wille, Petrine, Tom, Ann Miller, Paul, & Teresa Davis; as well as his many special Bisson and Hunter sisters- and brothers-in-law, and numerous nieces & nephews. Memorials preferred to Notre Dame Academy (Minnetonka) or Caring & Sharing Hands (Minneapolis).
Visitation Friday, February 16 from 5:00-8:00 pm, with prayers & sharing of memories at 6:30pm, at Washburn-McReavy Hopkins Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, February 17 at 11:00am at St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church, 1310 Mainstreet Hopkins, MN 55343. Reviewal starting at 10:00am, also at the church. I still remember when I was kid and came for a sleepover at the Bisson house. I have a vivid memory of Mr. Bisson washing a frying pan in the sink. He washed it so completely and thoroughly and carefully. I remember, especially how he washed the handle of the pan with great attention to detail and care. it made an impression on me. So much so that I still remember it clearly more than 40 years later!

That love and care is how Ron Bisson treated everyone and everything. I will always appreciate his kindness and consideration.
