Rose Robichaud Bisson, 70, of Hampton, CT passed peacefully at home on June 29, 2025 after a hard fought battle with cancer.
Rose was born on June 14, 1955 in Cambridge, MA to Gilbert and Grace (Murphy) Robichaud. She was a graduate of UCONN earning a Masters degree in special education. Rose continued her education throughout her life earning degrees from Fordham University, Lesley University and QVCC. Her life was dedicated to children's education beginning at the Dempsey Center in Putnam. She went on to teach special ed in Eastford and Greenwich then moving up to Assistant Principal in Ledyard. From there, Rose became Principal of Borough School in Stafford and after 15 years, she moved on to Principal at Natchaug School in Windham until her retirement. Rose's dedication to children lead her to sit on the Board of Education both at Parish Hill High School and Hampton Elementary School where she held the seat of chairperson for her final years. Rose had a passion for reading and sewing but most of all, her family. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter and sister caring for her parents and husband during their final time on earth.
Rose was predeceased by her husband, Maurice Bisson and her parents. She leaves behind her daughter, Elizabeth Bisson of Brooklyn; her grandchildren Rizzelle and Jacob Graffam both of Brooklyn; her brother Gilbert Robichaud of New York; sisters Jeanne Robichaud of New Jersey and Ann Tidwell of Virginia, several nieces and nephews and her wonderful dog Jessie.
The family would like to send its most sincere gratitude to all who assisted in granting Rose's final wishes to be home and comfortable surrounded by love.
Relatives and friends may visit on Saturday July 19, from 9:30 to 10:30AM at Bacon Funeral Home 71 Prospect St, Willimantic. Graveside services will follow at 11AM at St. Joseph Cemetery Club Rd, Windham. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hampton Elementary School Rose Bisson Reading Fund 380 Main St, Hampton, CT. 06247.
