Ronald “Eric” Bridges went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, in Braxton, MS. He was 46 years old. The family will receive friends and extended family for visitation from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, September 19, 2025, and again on Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Florence in Florence, MS. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. with burial following at New Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Braxton, MS.
Eric was born on November 16, 1978, to Ronald Lynn Bridges and Mary Wright Lea in Jackson, MS. He grew up in the Braxton-Harrisville communities where he was a member of New Zion Baptist Church. Eric was a teacher and coach for Florence Middle School. He taught computer science and coached football, baseball, and basketball. Eric made a great impact on the students and players he taught and coached. When he wasn’t coaching, he loved watching Mississippi State football. “Hail State” Eric was loved everywhere he would go. He was very charismatic. He enjoyed woodworking, building things, and playing video games. But above all, he loved his family. Eric will truly be missed.
Eric is preceded in death by his grandparents, J. D. and Ina Bridges, Ernest Wright, Rose Singletary and Billie Lea. He is survived by his loving wife of 10 years, Crystal Bridges; children, John Michael Bridges (Makaylin), David Aiden Bridges, Taylor Nicole Aycox (Dustin), Trey Bennett (Jessie), Audrey Polk (Tristian Edmondson), Dylan Wiltcher, Joshua Wiltcher, Jenna Beth Bridges, and Brody Eric Bridges; mother, Mary Lea (Johnny); father, Ronald Bridges (Sydney); grandchildren, David Bridges, Jessie Bridges, Kennedy Aycox, Georgia Bennett, and Maverick Bennett; siblings, Dana Bridges Luke (Will), Melanie Lea, Allison Toon (Tyler), Steve Rogers (Tanya), and Lisa King (Bruce); nieces and nephews, Kinsley Luke, Landon Calhoun, Selah Toon, Judson Toon, Payton Wilkes (Eric), Neely Roderick (Brandon), Reed Rogers, Kasie Morris (Adam), and Kelly Alexander (Austin).
