Ronald A. Broering, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and respected member of the Fife Lake community, passed away on January 2, 2024, at the age of 80, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Ron peacefully transitioned into eternal rest surrounded by his adoring family, in the heart of his cherished home - a place he affectionately deemed "the best spot on earth". Born on July 8, 1943, in
Cincinnati, OH, to proud parents Paul H. and Dolores Broering, Ron grew up alongside his brothers Paul R. and Jerry Broering. He graduated from Saint Joe Prep in Bardstown, KY, and later earned a degree in pharmacy from the University of Cincinnati.
On April 20, 1968, Ron married the love of his life, Noreen. Their union was blessed with four daughters: Jennifer (David) Ludwig of Granger, IN; Lisa (Kevin) Fitzpatrick of
East Grand Rapids, MI; Cindy (Chris) Shepherd of Granger, IN; and Ashley (Daven) Brodess of
East Grand Rapids, MI. Later in life, Ron's focus shifted to the profound joy of grandparenthood. Morgan, Erin, Ryan, and Reagan Ludwig; Kearan, Nora, and Keva Fitzpatrick; Skylar, Kylie, Kendall, and Danika Shepherd; and Laurea and Landrean Brodess became the center of his world.
Ron was not only a devoted husband, father, and grandfather but also a cherished friend to many. He was a man of steadfast character and lived his life according to the values of body, mind, soul, God, family, and country. His life was marked by profound generosity and an unwavering commitment to those he held dear.
For over two decades, Ron served as a respected pharmacist at Meister Drug in Bremen, IN. His tenure was marked not only by professional excellence but also by a profound commitment to the well-being of the local community. Beyond the pharmacy counter, Ron cultivated the land, embodying the spirit of a dedicated farmer and leaving an indelible mark on the rural community he called home.
In 1996, Ron returned to his childhood haven, Fife Lake, where he had spent countless summers since boyhood. It was here that he found true contentment, joyfully immersing himself in the beauty of nature and selflessly serving his community. Whether constructing rock walls on his hillside, tending to flowerbeds, or lending a helping hand to neighbors, Ron's impact was far-reaching and enduring.
As we bid a fond farewell to Ron, we celebrate a life well-lived and a legacy of love that will endure in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known him. A Mass of Christian Burial in memory of Ron will take place at noon on Saturday, January 6, 2024, with visitation an hour before at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 403 Merritt St,
Fife Lake, MI.In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial contributions in Ron's honor be made to the Fife Lake Public Library Expansion Fund. Checks can be made out to the Friends of the Fife Lake Library, PO Box 254,
