Ronald Lee Cathcart, 82, of Hermitage, PA, passed away on July 16, 2025, at UPMC Horizon - Shenango with family by his side, following a brief illness.
Ronald Lee Cathcart, beloved father, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away leaving a legacy of strength, kindness, and faith.
Ronald was preceded in death by his mother Florence Kamerer, stepfather Kenneth "Red" Kamerer, biological father Charles Cathcart, and sister Charlotte Despain. He is survived by his sister Debbie Bigler and niece Robin Simmons.
He is also survived by his sons, Steven Cathcart (Hermitage, PA) and his wife Kimberly, and Keith Cathcart (Raleigh, NC) and his wife Rachel Gutierrez, as well as grandchildren Jacob, Joshua, Spencer, Ysobel, and Caleb Cathcart, and great-granddaughters Charlotte and Evelyn Cathcart.
Ronald spent over 30 years as an independent truck driver before enjoying his retirement working in the auto department at Walmart, where he found true friendship and community. He was known for his generous spirit, often sharing treats like muffins with coworkers, friends, and caregivers.
A proud and active member of the local Lions Club, Ronald was awarded the Melvin Jones Fellowship-Lions Club International's highest form of recognition-for his dedicated humanitarian service and commitment to helping those in need.
His passions included golf, camping, cheering for the Steelers, and the loyal companionship of his dog, Zoey. Most importantly, Ronald's life was transformed by his faith in Jesus, guiding the way he served and cared for others.
Ronald was a tough, good-hearted man who cared deeply for others and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He will be remembered for his resilience, generosity, and the way he touched the lives of those around him.
