Ronald Duane Dannels, 77, Altoona, Kansas went to meet or Our Heavenly Father on Friday, November 28, 2025. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Loran Fawcett Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 5, 2025, at Altoona Cemetery in Altoona, Kansas. Following the graveside service the family will greet visitors at Verdigris Valley Church HI way 47 in Altoona, Kansas.
Ronnie was born October 24, 1948, in Neodesha, Kansas to Howard and Maryann (Schoonover) Dannels. Ronnie spent his entire life in Altoona, Kansas working on the family farm. Ronnie graduated from Altoona, Kansas Schools then he entered the United States Army serving from 1968-1970 in Vietnam. Following his honorable discharge from the Army Ronnie married the love of his life Verna C. “Jan” Taylor the couple spent 54 years together.
Ronnie was a hard worker working two jobs to support his family. Ronnie worked on his farm and cut wood, hauled hay all while working a full-time job. After 28 years of dedicated service to Chanute Manufacturing Ronnie retired in 2017. Ronnie enjoyed working on the farm, fishing, and working to beautify his yard but most of all he loved being a Pa.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, two infant daughters, one brother Richard (Lois) Dannels. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Jan of the home, one son Damon ( Jami) Dannels and one daughter Dayna ( Darren) Denney, four grandchildren, Devan ( Taylor) Denney, David ( Tanna) Denney, Sophie ( Tylar) Dannels, Davin Dannels, three great grandchildren, Kensleigh, Kamry and Elsie.
