Ronald Derr Obituary

Ronald "Ron" Derr, age 90 was born on April 28, 1935, in Muskegon to the late Leroy and Ann (Hendricks) Derr and passed away on August 20, 2025. Ron is survived by his wife of over 62 years, Darlene Derr; children, Jean (Ron) Stolzman, Greg Derr, and Bryan Derr; eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; a brother Roger Derr; several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents Ron was preceded in death by a sister, Marilyn (Richard) Sternberg; sister-in-law, Maxine Derr. Ron was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving during the Korean War. He retired as assistant postmaster for the Muskegon office of the United States Postal Service after 30 years of service, following retirement he spent several years driving for Muskegon County MATS. He and Darlene are past members of the downtown Eagles, and Fifth Reformed Church. Ron was an avid sports fan who enjoyed golf and was a little league baseball coach when his children were young. He and Darlene spent several years in Bradenton, Florida during their retirement. According to his wishes cremation has taken place and a private Celebration of Life Gathering will be held. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the donor's choice.
