Ronald Lee Dick "Badger", 69, of Beloit, WI, passed away on Monday, August 7, 2023.
He was the son of Pete and Pat Staskal. Ron was a 1972 graduate of Beloit Memorial High School. He was a Vietnam veteran serving with the U.S. Navy. Ron worked overseas for seven years for the State Department in Afghanistan and Iraq, retiring in 2018.
Ron was a proud Navy Seabee serving on the U.S.S. Coral Sea. He was extremely proud of his Native American heritage and enjoyed doing reenactments as well. Ron was the Quarter Master for the Beloit V.F.W. Post #2306 and was part of the honor guard. He was a camp host for Hononegah Forest Preserve in Rockton, IL. Ron did volunteer work through Max Dodson and Caritas.
He is survived by his daughter, Amy (Chad) Dick; grandson, Evan (Jamie) Webster; granddaughter, Samm Shultz; great granddaughter, Luna Jimenez; father, Pete Staskal; his beloved dog, Dugan; longtime best friend, Mick Ehle; stepdaughters, Christina (Woody) Elliott, Dixie (Jeremy) Carlson; step granddaughters, Baylee Van Wormer, Addison (Ben) Hawley, Jessica (Dave) Root, Katelyn (Tyler) Walker; step grandson, Parker Rogaskie; brothers, Jim (Connie) Dick and Jeff Staskal; sisters, Lonna Fick and Janice Shultz; nieces, Tara Rhamy, Kelli Jo Quimby, Shannon Pendergrass, Summer Horwedel, and Dakota Boelens; nephews, Jeremy Lindstrom, Keith Rhamy, and Mitch Quimby; great niece, Sarah (Kyle) Christensen.
He was predeceased by his mother, Patricia; biological father, John Dick; brothers-in-law, Thomas Shultz and Bob Fick.
A Funeral Service for Ron will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 11, 2023 in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Rd., Beloit, WI. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Visitation of Remembrance will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 10, 2023 in the funeral home. Military Rites will be accorded by the V.F.W. Mead Allen Post #2306.
