Ronald Dietz Obituary

He was born July 6, 1951, in Canton, the son of the late Richard and Joan (West) Dietz.
He was a 1970 graduate of Lincoln High School. He received his degree in computer programming from Stark Technical College.
Ronald was a computer programmer and retired from The Bankers Co. in 2000.
He was an avid war, train, and fantasy gamer for face to face gaming. He was an avid bowler and had two "300" game rings. He also enjoyed playing chess and bingo.
He had Tae Kwon Do Black Belt and was an avid cyclist.
Ronald is survived by his brother, Randy (Brenda) Dietz; sisters, Judith (Randall Schulze) Dietz and Jacqueline Dietz; niece, Ashley Alexander; nephew, Brandon Dietz; and best friends, Jennifer Tessanne and Rob Mani.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 from 12 Noon to 2 P.M. at Heitger Funeral Home - Jackson Chapel, 5850 Wales Ave. N.W., Massillon. A Funeral Service will follow beginning at 2 P.M.

Ron was my best friend and the best man at my wedding 38 years ago. Even today, my two sons still call him Uncle Ron. We first met in the late 70's while playing D&D. We branched out into other boardgames games and started attending game conventions. Even as my work took me further away from Canton we kept in touch by phone. Always planning for our next game convention or what we would play on my visits back to Canton. I'm in Canton as I write this. But we won't be gaming tomorrow, he won't get to meet my son's wife. The world is just a bit darker now without Ron's bright spirit. You will be missed my friend.
