Ronald Francis Donnell Jr. of Sisseton, South Dakota passed away on February 14, 2026, at 2:55 P.M. at Avera McKennan hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He was surrounded by loved ones; brother Jeff and nephew Ledger LaCroix and aunt and uncle Mary and Vernal Donnell. Ron was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on February 14, 1967. Ron's father's name is Ronald Francis Donnell Sr. and mother Patricia Emily DeWalt. Ron attended Roosevelt High School in Minneapolis but never graduated. He did get his GED. Ron married Jennifer Lodermeier and had a son with her that they named Donovan David Donnell. Ron also married Lynn Ree. Ron was brought up and raised in Saint Paul, Minnesota but later moved to South Minneapolis with his stepfather William LaCroix and mother Patty. Ron worked for Adolphson and Peterson as a union laborer and local 563. He also worked for Grazzini brothers where he made a beautiful tile mosaic for the SWO College building. But Ron was really remembered by the years of service he had in the food industry. His smiles and wittiness won over many and all people that came into his life. There would be times where people would request Ron as their waiter but there was a wait just to have Ron as their server. Sometimes waiting for long lengths of time. They did not mind the wait. He received a Governor's Award for his outstanding service! Ron considered Family Life Assembly of God his church home, he loved Jesus and claimed him as his Lord and Saviour. Ron loved the outdoors, from the spring where he would spear northerns to the fall where he would love to goose and duck hunt and hunt the occasional turkey (we won't say if he had a tag or not!) His favorite hunt was hunting white-tailed deer back home in Veblen, South Dakota. Ron was a provider and would put meat on the table for his family.

Ron is survived by his son Donovan (Morgan) Donnell of Sisseton, South Dakota; brother Jeffery (Christina) LaCroix; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents Ronald Francis Donnell Sr. and Patricia Emily Larson; brothers Lance LaCroix and Billy St. John Philbrick; paternal grandparents Francis "Sonny" Donnell and Gertrude "Gerty" Bien; maternal grandparents Lloyd DeWalt and Marion DeWalt.
