"Yea, so have I strived to preach the gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I should build upon another man's foundation." Romans 15:20
Ronald Dewayne Enoch, 72, of Springfield, MO was born on December 11, 1951 in Colorado Springs, CO, to Frank and Jeanette (Herbert) Enoch and departed this life on March 4, 2024 at his home in Springfield, MO. Ronald spent the last 7 years of his life battling Parkinson's Disease and severe cognitive decline.
Ron spent his childhood in Modesto, California. His life was forever changed when he placed his faith and trust in Jesus Christ and was born again as a child of God. He married Christine McClain on June 16, 1974 in Ellicott, CO. They moved to Springfield, MO to attend Baptist Bible College where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in 1981. Ron and Christine served as missionary interns at Cherry Street Baptist Church from 1984 to 1985 and in 1985 were approved to serve as missionaries with the Baptist Bible Fellowship International. They served as missionaries for 35 years in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Zambia, Kenya, and finally in Juba, South Sudan.
Ron was a hands-on man. If it was broken, needed to be repaired, or built, Ron would take care of it. He enjoyed a good joke, a bowl of ice cream or a glass of eggnog. Ron loved to play with his kids and his grandkids, and devotedly loved his wife Christine for almost 50 years. Most of all, he loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and was faithful to his calling to take the Gospel to places where it was not already known. He counted it a privilege and honor to serve as a missionary and continued serving until his health failed.
Ronald is survived by his wife, Christine, of 49 years, a daughter, Taletha Lee of Ozark, 4 sons, Philip (Heather) Enoch of Kijabe, Kenya, Timothy (Tabitha) Enoch of Mint Hill, NC, Steven (Bethany) Enoch of Pittsburg, KS, and Matthew (Anna) Enoch of Strafford, MO; one brother, Gene (Donna) Enoch, Mill City, Oregon; two sisters, Linda (Ray) Butterfield of Boise, Idaho, and Melody Enoch of Kentucky; 15 grandchildren (Grace, Elianne, and Josie Lee; Andrew, Kate, and Emily Enoch; Samuel, Josiah, and Levi Enoch; Natalie, Ava, and Aubury Enoch; Micah, Leah, and Elisa Enoch); many nieces and nephews and many other relatives. Ronald was preceded in death by his father, Frank, and mother, Jeanette.
"Well done, thou good and faithful servant enter thou into the joy of thy lord."
A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at Greenlawn Funeral Home East.
