Ronald W. Evans, age 88, of London, Kentucky, and formerly of Corbin, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at Baptist Health in Corbin, Kentucky.
Born in Maybeury, WV on July 25, 1936, he was a son of the late Everett and Rachel James Evans. He grew up in Gary, WV and graduated from Gary High School class of 1954. While a resident of Corbin, Kentucky, he was a lab analyst with Arch Mineral formerly US Steel. As a gifted author, Ronald was a beacon of creativity, weaving tales and spinning verses that resonated with the hearts and minds of his readers. His published books of short stories and poems were not merely compilations of words on paper, but windows into his soul, reflecting the depth of his intellect and the breadth of his imagination.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Yolanda Wood Evans.
Ronald is survived by his children; Terri King (Donald), Brad Wayne Evans (Wanda), Brian Kent Evans (Connie), and Wendi Dawn Crawford; grandchildren, Justin Lee King (Carrie), Jamie Lynn King, Chelsea Rae Bentley (David), Casey Rebeka Mills (Christian), Justin Wynn (Alisha), Jessica Wynn, Briana Evans, Joshua Kent Crawford (Tara Jo), and Blake D'Ray Crawford (Shelby); great grandchildren, Jaycee Walker, Jaylen Walker, Richard Walker, Aubree Crawford, Atticus Crawford, Paisley Elizabeth Mills, Grayson Tate Mills, Bo Bradley Bentley, David Trip Bentley, Coco Blake Bentley, Kent Crawford, Bonnie Jo Crawford, Levi Crawford, Sarah King, Isabelle King, Cadence Wynn, Kynzlee Wynn, and Eli Wynn; his siblings, Jack Evans (Barbara), Jim Evans (Zella), and Ann Woodford (Raymond); brother in law, Ralph Wood (Kathy); and by numerous nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.
Visitation for Ronald will be held from 12 pm until 1 pm on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, 607 Master Street, in Corbin, Kentucky, where funeral service will be held at 1 pm with Rev. Joshua Crawford officiating. Burial will follow in Cumberland Memorial Gardens in Lily, Kentucky.
