Ronald "Ron" E. Fennewald, age 88, of Jefferson City, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at his daughter's home, surrounded by his loving family.
Ron was born on January 6, 1937, in Jefferson City, Missouri, the son of the late Edward and Marie (Hoer) Fennewald. He was a proud graduate of St. Peter High School, Class of 1955.
On June 6, 1959, Ron married Dorothy Shelton at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jefferson City. They shared 38 wonderful years together until her passing on September 16, 1997.
Ron served his country honorably in the United States Army from 1957 to 1958. Following his service, he built a long and respected career as an accountant, working with Wright Price from 1965 to 1974, William Keepers from 1974 to 1990, and later as co-owner of Dulle & Associates from 1991 until his retirement in 2020.
A man of faith and community, Ron was a dedicated member of the Jefferson City Knights of Columbus, where he attained the distinguished rank of Fourth Degree Knight. He was also a member of the Columbia Country Club and an avid golfer, playing courses across the United States.
Ron loved sports and could often be found cheering for University of Missouri football and basketball, Friday night high school football for both Jefferson City and Helias High Schools, and Lincoln University basketball. A lifelong St. Louis Cardinals fan, he was thrilled to attend several World Series games over the years.
Ron is survived by his son, Danny Fennewald (Barbara) of Cedar Park, Texas; his daughter, Julie Fennewald of Jefferson City, Missouri; five grandchildren, Christy Fennewald (AJ Rauen), Jason Fennewald (Shannon Bennish), Danielle Grefrath (Peter), Rachelle Odom (Josh), and Trey Zbinden (Mandy); and eleven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his partner, Beverly Coleman, and his brother, Larry Fennewald.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Marie Fennewald; his wife, Dorothy Fennewald; and his brother, Tom Fennewald.
In lieu of flowers, Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Helias Foundation in Ron's honor.
