Ronald E. Foltz, age 85, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2024. Born on July 18, 1939, Ron lived a life full of love, adventure, and resilience. He was married twice, with both wives preceding him in death.
He is survived by his two beloved daughters, Cheryl Lynn of San Jose, IL, and Rebecca Lynn of Charleston, SC. Ron took great pride in his family, which includes eight grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 16 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense joy he was also survived by his sister Bonnie Roth and nephew Ronnie.
Ron was a proud veteran who served in the Navy from 1956 to 1960 as a communications officer stationed in Great Lakes, IL. His life journey took him from Kentucky, where he spent many years, to Mason City, IL, where he moved to be closer to family last November.
An outdoorsman at heart, Ron found happiness in nature, whether it was birdwatching, riding his four-wheeler, or honing his skills as a natural survivalist. His passion for the great outdoors was matched only by his love for his four-legged companions, Sebastian, Missy, and Tinkerbell, who he is surely reunited with now.
Ronald E. Foltz will be remembered for his warm spirit, adventurous soul, and the deep love he had for his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
The family will be gathered at Mason City Cemetery on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm with Military Honors beginning at 2:00 pm. They will be gathered at the Southwest corner of the Cemetery. Online condolences can be left at www.hurleyfh.com.
