Ronald G. Franklin Jr.
Holt
We are saddened to announce the passing of a charismatic and spirited soul, Ronald Franklin Jr., fondly known as Ron, on March 19, 2024. Born in Detroit, MI, on October 14, 1968, Ron lived a life filled with laughter, warmth, and an infectious energy that touched everyone he met. He was a man of many talents and interests, a beacon of light who never failed to make people laugh with his funny and witty remarks.
A retired Corrections Officer from the State of Michigan, he was well-respected and admired by his colleagues for his dedication and hard work. He was a man of discipline and strength, a trait he carried from his early years in karate and football. His love for sports was unmistakable. He was an ardent fan of the Michigan State Spartans and exuded a special affection for the Dallas Cowboys. His love for the Cowboys was a defining part of his personality. In his spare time he also enjoyed camping and listening to music. He was a man who embraced life in all its forms and lived it to the fullest.
Ron leaves behind his daughter, Kayla Franklin; his son, Michael Franklin; brother, Brian (Misty) Franklin and step-father, John Wallace. Ronald was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Glen Franklin Sr., and his mother, Lisa Wallace. Ron's memory will live on in our hearts forever.
A Celebration of Ron's life will be held at a later date. We invite everyone who knew Ron to share their memories of him by uploading photos, and leaving memories and comments on his memorial page at www.SkinnerFuneralHomes.com. It is in sharing these stories that we keep his spirit alive, and remind ourselves of the joy and laughter he brought into our lives.
