Ronald F. Frantz, 81 of Winchester, VA passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at his home.
Ronald was born in 1941 in St. Claire, PA the son of the late William and Margaret Frantz. He received his Associate s Degree from El Paso Community College and served our country during the Vietnam War from 1957 1978 in the United States Army. While in the Army he rose to the rank of Sergeant First Class and worked as Transportation Supervisor. Ronald was a member of the American Legion, a supporter of the NRA and he loved to hunt.
He married Norma Jean Capps on November 3, 1970 in Alamogordo, NM.
Ronald is survived by his wife, daughters, Barbara Glowner (Lawrence) of Winchester, VA, Rhonda Shifflett (Charles) of Winchester, VA, and Melanie Sears of Stephens City, VA; sons, Chester Woods of Indianapolis, IN, Michael Lykins (Beth) of New Mexico and Ronald Hamilton (Teresa) of Indianapolis, IN; twenty-two grandchildren in VA, TX & IN; thirty-two great grandchildren and nineteen great great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Vicky Bates; son, Ronald F. Frantz II; sisters, Olive Manbeck and Dorothy Cappel; brothers, William, Lewelyn and Edward Frantz.
A visitation will be on Thursday, September, 8, 2022 from 7pm to 9pm with a service the following day, Friday, September 9, 2022 at 1pm, all held at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel. Interment will be in Mount Hebron Cemetery.
