Ronald E. "Ronnie" Grant, 56, of Zanesville, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on June 10, 2024, at the Genesis Emergency Department. Born on August 6, 1967, to the late Frank L. and Mary Lou (Hammer) Grant, Ronnie was a man known for his selfless nature, adventurous spirit, and handy skills that served him well in his life. He was a devoted husband to his wife of five and a half years, Mari (Shultzman ) Grant, and a loving father to his children, Ronnie B. Grant and Chase (Maddie) Nykile, and Kaitlyn (Anthony Joseph) Nykile. His role as a grandfather was one, he cherished deeply, and he leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter in his grandchildren, Cayden, Anthony, Ryan, Ryder, Sophia, Kynzlee, Ryatt, Lillyonna, Marie, Tori, Kori, and Ronnie Jr. He also held a special place in his heart for his cousin Tina Rogers and her children, Matthew, Jenna, and Kris, along with special friends, Steve and Sandy Fisher. Ronnie took immense pride in his work with the Zanesville City Department of Weed & Litter Prevention, where he was not only respected for his dedication but also for the care he showed towards his crew. His work ethic was unparalleled, and he was always willing to go the extra mile to ensure that his city was clean and well-maintained. An avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Ronnie's passion for his team was only matched by his love for the great outdoors. He was happiest when he was hunting, fishing, or camping-activities that he often shared with his family and friends. Ronnie's sense of humor was infectious, and he was known to stir the pot and tease those around him, bringing joy and laughter to any encounter. Ronnie's faith was an important aspect of his life, and he attended Rolling Plains Global Methodist Church with his wife, Mari. His commitment to his faith was evident in the way he lived his life, always putting family first and embodying the values he held dear. In addition to his human family, Ronnie is also survived by his faithful fur companions, Chaos, Roxy, and Daisy, who will miss him immensely. Those who knew Ronnie will remember him as the "best papa ever," a man who was always ready to lend a hand or offer a word of encouragement. His selfless nature was evident in everything he did, and he often put the needs of others before his own. His adventurous spirit led him to explore new places and experiences, always with a sense of wonder and excitement. Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Leroy F. Grant. There will be no current services held for Ronnie, but a Celebration of Life will be planned for a date to be determined.
