Indianapolis, Indiana – Ronald Thomas Graves, 74, went home to Christ on September 29, 2025.
Ron was born to parents James Everett and Margaret (Story) Graves on March 16, 1951, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Ron attended Arsenal Tech High School before enlisting in the United States Army and serving in the Vietnam War. After his honorable service, he worked with his brother for many years as a home improvement specialist, mainly working in drapery sales and installation.
A talented musician, Ron could pick up any instrument and learn to play. He had a fondness for the guitar and piano, however, playing both with ease and grace. He also enjoyed fixing and restoring old cars and was known to take care of every stray cat in the neighborhood.
Ron was truly dedicated to his family and to Christ. A long-time bible teacher, Ron would share the gospel with anyone who would listen.
Ron is survived by his wife Sylvia, stepchildren Teresa Stewart, Bobby Shaw, and Darlene Hammons, siblings, Michael Graves, Steven Graves (Lisa), Martha Armstrong, Sue Welch, Cindy Harwell, and Linda Davis (Wendell); as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Flanner Buchanan – Memorial Park (9350 East Washington Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46229) on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, from 1 -3 pm with funeral services following at 3 pm. Burial will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery following services.
