Ron was born on August 26th, 1941, in Paterson, New Jersey to Adolph and Dorothy Haeberle. He attended East Side High School, and graduated from Paterson Central, prior to earning a bachelor's and master's degree from Paterson State College. He taught chemistry at Clifton High School, where he met his wife, Rhoda (née Rasnick). They settled in Butler, New Jersey after having their daughter, Jennifer.

He worked as a dentist for the Veterans Administration and later became a professor at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of NJ. His students awarded him the UMDNJ Foundation's Excellence in Teaching Award five times.
Ron valued his own lifelong commitment to learning and loved to share his passion with his students. Ron enjoyed being a Boy Scout, reaching the highest honor of Eagle Scout. He spent most of his summers at his family-managed Warrington Hotel in Ocean Grove, NJ. He frequently liked to spend his spare time fixing cars, deep sea fishing, and watching documentaries. Ron and his wife, Rhoda, also spent a lot of time traveling throughout the US and Europe.
He loved spending time with his daughter's family, especially his grandchildren and Lucky, the family dog who was always quick to bring a smile to his face. He was beyond proud of his grandchildren, and always encouraged them to be successful throughout their own educational journeys.
Ron was loved and he will be greatly missed. He is predeceased by his sister Phyllis Rose and he is survived by his wife Rhoda, daughter Jennifer, son-in-law Chris, and grandchildren Taylor and Christian Vander Groef.
