Ronald Clare Hall
January 3, 1941 - October 9, 2025
Ronald Clare Hall, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend passed away peacefully on October 9, 2025, at the age of 84.
Ron was born the eldest child of Clare and Alma (Richards) Hall in Standish, Michigan on January 3, 1941. He lived with his parents and siblings Norma Jean (Dake) and Daniel Thomas "Tom" Hall on the family farm in Bentley, Michigan. Ron graduated Standish High School in 1959 and went on to have a long career at GM Powertrain in Bay City, Michigan.
Through a coworker and his girlfriend, Ron met the love of his life, Diane Chalette. The two were married July 8th,1966, in Bay City, Michigan and went on to raise three children of their own: Deborah (David) Mudge of Standish, Tim (Jen) Hall of Linwood, and Sabrina (Luke) Sullivan of Kawkawlin. Their children blessed them with seven grandchildren, Tim II (Sara) and Daniel Hall, Thomas and Nicole Mudge, and Sean, Isabel, and Ashley Sullivan. They also welcomed the arrival of their first great-grandson, Timothy Jacob Hall. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Norma, and his grandson Daniel.
Ron had many hobbies through his lifetime, including fixing up wrecked cars to resell, woodworking, and collecting toy tractors especially those of the John Deere variety. He and Diane even visited the National Farm Toy Show in Iowa several times, making many national and even international friendships. He would also painstakingly restore some of the toys to their former glory and created implements for pedal tractors from scratch. He later began creating tractor themed mailboxes, then carving intricate models of the John Deere D out of wood. He also used these woodworking skills to create models of the manufacturing machines at the plant to give to retiring coworkers and made clocks and small furniture pieces for family. His works will continue to be cherished for generations to come.
Ron lived the majority of his years on the same plot of family farmland in Bentley, Michigan. He truly loved the area he called his home. He made friends wherever he went with his boisterous laugh and teasing spirit, including many staff at both Eden Fields in Standish and Carriage House in Bay City where he spent his final years. The loss of his physical presence will be missed by so many, but the memories he left behind will be cherished by the same.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, October 17, 2025, at 11 am from the Beacon of Light Methodist Church with Pastor Russ Poier presiding with inurnment in Gibson Township Cemetery. Friends may visit at the church from 10 am until time of service. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home-Standish Chapel.
