Ron was born on March 7, 1932, in Johnston City, Illinois and passed away on March 16, 2026, at his ranch in Carmine, Texas.
Ron was predeceased in death by his parents, Hershel Hall and Dorothy Tolbert Hall, the mother of his children, Eleanor Jean Hall, son, Michael Hall, daughter, Linda Hall Goodrich, Brothers Jerry Hall, Fred Hall, and sisters, Loretta Ku and Margaret Hoffard.
Ron is survived by his wife, Dixie Kennedy Hall, son, Steven and wife Debbie Hall, sister, Betty Bennett, grandsons, Ryan and Troy Hall, and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Ron attended Bradley University on a football scholarship, earning his BS degree in 1953. His athletic ability and dedication were later recognized when he was inducted into Bradley University's Hall of Fame. He continued his education at Columbia University, where he earned an MBA, laying the foundation for a distinguished career that spanned a lifetime. Another highlight in Ron's life was when Southern Illinois University's College of Business Administration awarded its first Doctor of Commercial Science Honorary Degree to Ron in 1988.
Following his academic pursuits, Ron served honorably as a First Lieutenant and Provost's Marshall in the U.S. Air Force, exemplifying his commitment to service and country. After completing his military service, Ron embarked on a successful career in the oil and gas industry. Ron was with Shell Oil Company for 26 years before joining Gulf Oil Corporation in 1982 where he served as senior vice president. His exceptional leadership and expertise culminated in his role as President and CEO of CITGO Petroleum Corporation until 1996 when he retired to his ranch in Texas.
In his retirement Ron continued philanthropic endeavors by establishing a perpetual student scholarship fund at Burton St. John United Church of Christ. Ron was a devoted supporter with a profound connection to Baylor Scott and White.
Over his life Ron was honored with many rewards some of which were Bradley University's Watonga Award, "the most prestigious honor Bradley University bestows upon a graduating senior student-athlete and recognizes the ability of the recipient to combine athletic and academic success with community service."
In addition, Ron was inducted into Bradley University's Athletic Hall of Fame and named to the Centurion Society, the highest honor the university awards its alumni. Ron served on Bradley University's Board of Trustees for 12 years, receiving the President's Award in 2004 for service on the Bradley National Council of Business advisors.
In 1992 Ron established the Ronald Hall Scholarship for Athletes enrolled in the College of Business Administration at Bradley University as well as Southern Illinois University to support future generations in achieving their educational goals.
Early on, Ron always found time to take part in civic and charitable activities in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He served as vice chairman for the Tulsa area United Way's oil division, as Director of the Gilcrease Museum Association and of St. Francis Hospital, advisor director of the Tulsa Ballet Theatre and as a director of the Tulsa Chamber of Commerce. Under Ron's leadership at CITGO, the company became a national sponsor of the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Ronald Eugene Hall used his resources giving generously to help others throughout his life, reflecting the values of accountability, courage, diligence, integrity and respect. Ron will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to family, country and community and for the impact he made on all of those that had the privilege of knowing him.
A funeral service for Ron will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at 11:00 am at St. John's United Church of Christ located at 516 N Colorado Street, Burton, Texas. A luncheon will follow the service in the church's Fellowship Hall. Burial will be held at Prairie Lea Cemetery at 2:30 pm located at 1004 Prairie Lea Street, Brenham, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Tunnel To Towers Foundation T2T.org or St. John's United Church of Christ Scholarship Fund, Burton, Texas.
