Ronald Hartwig Obituary
Ronald Roy Hartwig was born to Leroy and Alinda (Wille) Hartwig on April 28, 1940 in Watertown, WI.
He had a lifelong love of animals and the outdoors. In addition to his dogs, Happy, Butchy, and Tammy, he once befriended a crow "Blacky." Blacky would even fly above him as he drove his tractor in the field. He would spend many hours on his farmland property. He raised corn, soybeans, and sunflowers for deer and other wildlife. He would allow it to stand over the winter to continue to provide a food source for them all.
He was good-hearted, kind, and generous, and was very patriotic.
Ronald is survived by his sister, Mary (Orville) Schultz; his brothers, Darryl (Donna) Hartwig and Royal (Debbie) Hartwig; as well as many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Alinda Hartwig.
A funeral service was held at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Farmington, WI on Monday, August 25, 2025 at 12 p.m. with Rev. Joseph Fricke officiating. Family and friends gathered for visitation at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial took place at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Farmington, WI, immediately following the service. Hafemeister Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Watertown is serving the family.
