Ronald Heddy Obituary

Ron Heddy was a 40-year career Registered Nurse at Halifax Hospital. He began working as an orderly in the Operating Room and soon realized that he enjoyed the hospital environment. He received his nursing degree at DBCC (now Daytona State), and spent most of his tenure at Halifax working in ICU and Radiology. Ron's ability to empathize with the patients and their families was felt by everyone he encountered.
Ron was a surfer, a fisherman, an Eagle Scout, a sailor and a snappy dresser. He is survived by his many friends, his brother Reed, Sarasota, wife Suzanne, with whom he just spent their 36th wedding anniversary on Memorial Weekend, his nephew Jeremy Heddy (Kristi) Jacksonville, his sister-in-law, Luanne Heddy (Rich Hull) Port Orange, and his cousin, Rosemary Davis (Glenn) Vero Beach.
There will be a memorial service on Wednesday, June 12 at 4 pm at Dale Woodward Funeral Home, 167 Ridgewood Avenue in Holly Hill with the Reverend Dr. Wiley Lowe officiating the service.

Enjoyed seeing Ron at the pharmacy window. Always asked how our day was going and thanked us for our help. He always had a story to tell.

I first met Ron when he worked in IMC at Halifax. Always respected him as a nurse and just a decent man to talk with. A few years ago I bumped into he and his wife at Sugar Mill Gardens. Same Ron, friendly and easy going. Heaven has added another Angel.
