In Loving Memory of Vincent Edward Maine
February 17, 1971 – August 24, 2025
Vincent Edward Maine, beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on August 24, 2025, at the age of 54 in South Daytona, Florida. His sudden passing has left his family and loved ones heartbroken and deeply saddened.
Born on February 17, 1971, in Edmonds, Washington, Vince grew up in Marysville and graduated from Marysville Pilchuck High School in 1989-Go Tomahawks! He went on to serve honorably in the U.S. Navy as an Operations Specialist from 1989 to 1993. During his military service, he was stationed in Naples, Italy with Commander Fleet Air Mediterranean and played a key role in several operations, including Sharp Edge, Desert Shield, and Desert Storm. His exceptional work earned him the Navy Achievement Medal in recognition of his contributions to air logistics coordination. He later served aboard the USS Oliver Hazard Perry from 1992 to 1993.
In 1994, while visiting Seattle for New Year's Eve, Vince met the love of his life, Patty Rioja, in Pioneer Square. From that night on, they built a life of love, family, and adventure together. They married, raised two sons-Bradly and Vincent Jr.-and created a lifetime of cherished memories.
After earning his degree from the University of Washington, Vince embarked on a successful career in banking, with a focus on community development. For over 20 years, he dedicated himself to serving underserved communities, helping families gain access to housing and financial opportunities. He served on multiple boards for housing, economic development, and nonprofit organizations, always with a heart for service and a voice for change.
Vince's career took the family from Seattle to Idaho, then New Jersey, and finally to Florida. But no matter where he went, Vince built connections, made lasting friendships, and brought joy to everyone he met.
Vince's life was rich in experience and deeply rooted in family. He was a devoted husband and father whose happiest moments were spent with Patty, Bradly, Vincent Jr., and their beloved dog, Snoopy. Together, they traveled the world-from Peru and Mexico City to Italy and the Caribbean-and even adventured up and down the East Coast in their RV. He was an enthusiastic sports fan, rooting (often simultaneously) for the Seahawks, Eagles, Lions, Bills, Notre Dame, and the Washington Huskies. His legendary tailgates were the stuff of stories-where food, laughter, and fellowship came together in unforgettable ways.
In his free time, Vince loved playing golf, and during his boys' younger years, he coached their soccer, baseball, and basketball teams-always on the sidelines, cheering them on. He was a man of unwavering values, known for his honesty, integrity, and generosity. Vince brought a larger-than-life energy into every room, balanced by patience, kindness, and a heart that made time for everyone.
Vince is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Patty; his sons, Bradly and Vincent Jr.; his mother, Charlotte Maine; and his siblings, Larry Maine, Bill Maine, Ron Maine, Sue Olson, Dick Maine, Cindy Yzaguirre, and Beth Bissitt. He is also deeply missed by his many nieces and nephews, extended family, and his loyal companion, Snoopy.
He was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Maine; his sister, Melinda Maine; and his nephew, Michael Olson.
The Maine family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the many individuals and organizations who have shown compassion and support during this incredibly difficult time. Your kindness has meant more than words can express:
