Ronald E. Hook

Ronald Eugene Hook, passed away on April 23, 2024, at the age of 81. Born on June 2, 1942, in Battle Creek, the son of John Hook and Frances Beatty.
Ron is survived by his beloved wife, Lillian "Peggy" (Lester) Hook, and their cherished children, John (Roz) Hook and Susan (Mike) Stonehouse. He was the proud grandfather of Zack Ballinger, Kari Folkert, Kyla (Chris) Hook, and Kaleb (Courtney) Stonehouse, and delighted in the joys of being a great-grandfather to Keene, Khloe, Jaycen, Audi, and Zane. Ron's brother, Randy (Leona) Hook, and sister, Sandy Hook, also survive him. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Sara Hook and Frances and Richard Jelinek, and by his sister, Sharon (Dewy) Mears.
Ron's professional life was marked by hard work and loyalty. He began his career at Nabisco before dedicating over three decades to Ralston Purina, retiring in 2001. His entrepreneurial spirit shone as he worked at Felpausch for nearly 20 years and owned Hook's Crafts and the Delton Dollar. Ron filled his life with activities that brought him joy and a sense of community. He was an active participant in bowling leagues with Peggy, enjoyed playing slow pitch softball, and was skilled in woodworking. Ron's hobbies also included fishing and camping, while he relished watching a variety of sports.
Ron will be remembered as the unofficial mayor of Bawker Lake, a testament to the indelible impact he made on his community. His generous spirit and warm heart will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
