Ronald F. Husting November 23, 1936 – June 16, 2025
Ronald F. Husting, of Lake Mills, passed away surrounded by loved ones on June 16, 2025, at Rainbow Hospice in Johnson Creek. He was born on November 23, 1936, in Port Washington, Wisconsin, to John P. Husting and Florence (Meyer) Husting. He was the youngest of eight children.
He is survived by his daughters, Kristine (Joseph) Neary and Paula (William) Johnson Morgan; his son, Ronald (Aimee) Husting; grandchildren Erika, Karlee, Jake, Andrew, Samantha, Sara, Aubrey, and Ashton; and great-grandchildren Malcolm, Iris, and Arlo. He is further survived by his brother Gerald (Marie) Husting, in-laws, nieces, nephews, and their families, and his four-legged friend, Tuffy.
Ronald was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 62 years, Marilyn A. Husting (née Linke), as well as his parents. He was also preceded in death by his four sisters-Joyce (Vernon) Zignego, Esther Husting, Mary (Elmer) Baskin, and Florence (Ozzie) Jaeger-and two brothers, Harold (Barbara) Husting and Ollie (Mary Ellen) Husting.
A graduate of Port Washington High School, Ronald began working at the age of 18, starting as a laborer with Zignego Construction. Over the next 45 years, he built a highly respected career, advancing to master-class heavy equipment operator and later serving as foreman. His dedication, skill, and leadership earned him numerous accolades.
A devoted husband, Ronald cared for his wife Marilyn with unwavering love and support throughout their marriage and especially in her final years. A very loving father, he adored his children and grandchildren, and his family was the heart of everything he did.
Ronald loved life and had many interests and hobbies that kept him active. Exceptionally talented with his hands, he could build and repair just about anything. He spent countless hours crafting detailed model trains and ships. He also loved fishing and took numerous trips to Canada throughout his life. A proud Wisconsinite, he was a lifelong fan of the Green Bay Packers-first and foremost-followed closely by the Milwaukee Brewers and Bucks.
In recent years, Ronald made his home at Trinity Pines Senior Living in Lake Mills, where he formed many special friendships. He was involved in the many activities there, especially enjoying the men's club and playing pool, bringing his good humor to everyone he met.
He lived life to the fullest-whether behind the controls of a machine or casting a line into the water.
Ronald will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
