Ronald Ray Jarrell, age 87, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 25,2025. Ray was born on August 9, 1937 in Elk City, Oklahoma to Thomas and Maudie Jarrell. In 1973, he married the love of his life, Joan Rich and together they shared 41 wonderful years. Ray was a devoted husband and loving father to his 3 children and 2 step children. His heart overflowed with joy as he became a grandfather and great-grandfather. He was known for his love for is cows, great service at the post office and how he loved to talk to everyone he encountered. His life was defined by his strong work ethic, how much he loved his cows and his love for Christ. Ray dedicated himself to various roles throughout his professional life. He worked for Skelly Refinery, Oak Farms delivery, Frito-lay delivery driver, and served as a Postal Clerk at the United States Post Office. He retired from the Post Office in 2000 at the age of 62. Rays faith was a guiding light in his life, and he was a faithful member and Deacon of Stratford East Main Church of Christ. In his free time he loved farming, taking care of is cattle, reading and being with friends and family. Ray was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joan Jarrell; daughter Rhonda McBride, son in-law Tom Jones; parents, Thomas and Maudie Jarrell; brothers, Kenneth and Clarence; and sisters, Mildred, Nadine, Laverne, Corine, and Wanelda. He is survived by his son Robert and wife Judy, son Ronald, stepdaughters Jeanie and Julie and son in-law Wayne McBride. His legacy lives on through his 22 grandchildren: Aaron McBride, wife Andrea; Emily Putman, husband Aaron; Evan McBride; April Barnes, husband Kenneth; Kyle Jarrell, wife Chasity; Amber Collins, husband Trace; Chasity Mooney, husband Brian; Alexandra Soto, husband Ben; Mikayla Clark, husband Jayden; Raena Neiderhofer, husband Andy; Brittany Malone; Jordan Malone; and Vickie Jones. Ray also leaves behind 22 great-grandchildren; Asher and Asa McBride; Caleb, Levi and Ethan Putman; Everly McBride; Kallie, Kolby and Kacie Barnes; Karleigh Jarrell; Bailey and Colton Collins; Landon, Joshua, Hannah and Elijah Mooney; Emily Grace, Olivia and Silas Soto; Jane and Jackson Niederhofer; and Ella and Jett Clark. SERVICE INFO: Rays friendliness, kindness, generosity and love for Christ and family will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
Graveside Service will be 2:00 PM Tuesday January 28, 2025 in McGee Cemetery Stratford, Oklahoma.
Officiating; will be Christopher Jarrell & Jeffrey Wells. Following the service there will be visitation in the fellowship hall in the East Main Church of Christ Stratford, Oklahoma.
