GREENFIELD – Ronald W. "Ron" Johnson, age 64, of Greenfield, passed away Friday, March 7, 2025 at Community North Hospital. He was born in Greenfield, Indiana, on May 29, 1960 to Ronald Dean and Meredith (Walls) Johnson. He graduated from Eastern Hancock High School in 1979. He married Vicky (Smith) Johnson on October 4, 1979.
He worked for many years for Johnson Towing and then owned and operated Ron Jon Towing for several years. He was a Reserve Officer for the Hancock Sheriff's Department.
Ron enjoyed camping, boating, racing, and playing darts. He loved people and loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife Vicky of Greenfield; parents Ron and Janet Johnson of Greenfield; children Missy Johnson of Lewisville, Indiana, and Michelle (Walker) Banks of Cambridge City, Indiana; grandchildren, Jalen, Austin, Korbyn, Izabella, Dominic, Kinley, Kanin, and Alayna; siblings, Tony (Becky) Johnson of Manilla, Indiana, Trish (Lynn) Harshman of Sherrills Ford, North Carolina, and Jerry Johnson of Spiceland, Indiana; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Meredith (Walls) Johnson; daughter, Jennifer Johnson; and brother, Mark Johnson.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2025 at 11:00 am at the mortuary, with visitation an hour prior to the service. Chaplain Daniel Coffey will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, please consider the needs of Ron's family by sending memorial contributions to Erlewein Mortuary, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. Envelopes will be available at the mortuary. Friends may share a memory or condolence at www.erleweinmortuary.com.
