Ronald E. Krofcheck, 87, of Perryopolis, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at Easy Living Estates, in Hunker, PA. Born September 26, 1938, in Leckrone, PA, Ron was the son of the late Stephen and Anna Walczy Krofcheck. A resident of Perryopolis for the past 61 years, Ron was a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church in Perryopolis. Ronald was a retired grocery store manager from Jack’s Red & White/Shop-n-Save in Perryopolis, and Gismondi’s Midtown Foodland in Uniontown. He served in the United States Army from 1962-1966, and was a member of the Perryopolis Knights of Columbus, Council 4427, where he obtained the honor of Fourth Degree. Ron enjoyed golfing, hunting, walking in the woods, bird watching, listening to music, going to concerts and gardening. Ron was always tinkering around the house, finding small jobs to do. His greatest joy was spending time with his seven grandchildren where he gave them his utmost devotion and attention. He created crafts, attended band concerts and sporting events. Pappy enjoyed Super Mario Brothers, playing board games, and serving smiley fries at all hours of the night.
He is survived by his three sons and two daughters-in-law, Ronald and Pam of Hurricane, WV, Gregory and Rebecca Krofcheck of West Newton, Daniel Krofcheck of Perryopolis, and seven grandchildren: Ryan, Rebecca, Gavin, Emma, Sara, Madison, and Elena Krofcheck. He is also survived by two brothers and three sisters-in-law: Irene Krofcheck of Burgettstown, Gerald and Connie Krofcheck of Masontown, and Richard and Paula Krofcheck of Aurora, OH, many nieces and nephews, and special friends. He is preceded in death by his loving wife Billie J. Lytle Krofcheck, mother and father, Anna and Stephen Krofcheck, brother Stephen Krofcheck, niece Kathleen Krofcheck, nephews James and Stephen Krofcheck III, and sister-in-law Marcy Krofcheck.
Private visitation and funeral services were held on Saturday, March 21, 2026. Ronald’s funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations LLC, Family Owned and Operated, 191 Liberty St. Perryopolis, PA 724-736-2515. Inurnment took place in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Cemetery in Perryopolis, PA.
