It is with heavy hearts that we announce Frank Patrick Jr, 83, of Jefferson Estates (Fayette City) passed away peacefully, on Sunday, March 1, 2026 at UPMC Mercy Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Born on March 9, 1942 to his late parents Frank Patrick Sr. and Gertrude (Gainer) Patrick, Frank grew up in Roscoe, PA. On July 13,1959, he met the love of his life and wife of 64 years, Linda, and they were later married on July 31, 1961. Upon graduating from California High School in 1960, Frank enlisted in the military and served from 1960 to 1963 as a fireman in the U.S. Air Force at Glasgow AFB in Glasgow, Montana. After returning to the Mon Valley, Frank worked as a highway designer for Westmoreland Engineering Company and Mackin Engineering. He also worked as a steelworker for U.S. Steel in Allenport, PA, and as an inspector for the PA DEP Bureau of Mine Safety. From there, he went to PennDOT where he issued highway occupancy permits (HOP) as an inspector until his retirement in 2004. He was also a volunteer fireman when they lived in North Belle Vernon.
In his younger days, Frank was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed watching the Penguins, Pirates and Steelers, and was even an original season-ticket holder when the Penguins first joined the NHL. He also enjoyed trips to go see the Washington Wild Things and the Wheeling Nailers. He coached both little league and Bronco league baseball, and later coached men's softball teams. Frank's love of golf led to his involvement with the Foster House and Naomi Athletic Club golf leagues. He also started making his own golf clubs, and made repairs to his friends damaged clubs when needed. One of his favorite past times was sharing a beer, laughs and stories with some of his closest friends at the local clubs of which he was a member including the Naomi Athletic Club, the Fairhope Rod & Gun Club, and the American Legions in Fayette City and North Belle Vernon.
In addition to his wife, Frank is survived by his: son Frank (Myrna) Patrick III; daughter Dawn (Kieran) McGarry; daughter Lynn Leary; sister Doreen (Thomas) Chucuddy; grandkids Jimmy, Joshua, Antanette, John, Ravyn, Christopher, and Rylea; and great-grandkids Eleanor and Fiona. In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his sister Patricia "Patsy" McGraw, grandson Shane Patrick, and great grandson Daniel Murphy.
