GROVELAND – Ronald Kruse, 85, of Groveland, passed away Saturday, September 20, 2025.

He was born on July 7, 1940, in Allentown, to Henry Sr. and Cordelia (Remmert) Kruse. Ronald married Judith Hall on October 7, 1962, in Morton. She preceded him in death on July 19, 2021.

He was also preceded in death by his brother, Henry Kruse, Jr.

Surviving are his daughters, Lori (Terry) Parkin of Pekin and Leanne (Cindy) Kruse of Monterey, Tennessee; granddaughters, Karis (Douglas) Lawson and Karlee (Brandon Lanhardt) Parkin, both of Groveland; great-grandchildren, Freya Kay and Beckett Lawson, Evan Lanhardt and Paxton Parkin; siblings, Robert Kruse, Glenda Kruse and Dale Kruse; and many nieces and nephews.

Ronald owned and operated Kruse Brothers Builders with his brother until he retired. He was deeply involved with Central Illinois Riding Therapy and numerous horse associations.

For the past 25 years, Ron and Judy spent their winters in Arizona enjoying the weather and the view of the Superstition Mountains.

Ron loved operating his John Deere tractor, mowing and watching the barn swallows. He enjoyed taking his dog Sassy on Gator rides while watching the geese on his lake.

"I'm just reminiscing and smelling the Roses".

A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, October 3, 2025, at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
