Wayde Logue Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center - Morton on Sep. 19, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

GOODFIELD – Wayde Jesse Logue, 65, of Goodfield, finally met his Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, September 19, 2025, after a five-year battle with cancer.

He was born on August 1, 1960, in Peoria, Illinois, to Norman and Betty Logue. He married Gaylene Hostetler on April 12, 2002 in Cave Point, Wisconsin.

Surviving are his wife, Gaylene of Goodfield; two daughters, Kathryn Logue of Temple, Texas and Katy (Josh) Kuntz of Goodfield; three grandchildren, Violet, Melody and Isaiah Kuntz; brother, Kerry (Barbara) Logue of St. Louis, Missouri; sister, Tammy Logue of Peoria; and sister-in-law, Teresa Logue of Goodfield.

He was preceded in death by his son, Trevor Logue; parents and two brothers, Tom and Alan.

Wayde owned and operated WL Garage in Goodfield since 1989. He was known by his family and friends as the man who could figure out and fix anything. Wayde built and drove race cars for many years, making friends and having many a good time at the track.

He and Gaylene enjoyed spending time on their deck, listening to music, their many travels and eating at local one- of-a-kind places on their trips.

Wayde looked forward to visits from his daughter, Kathryn. They worked on many projects together over the years. He liked to play games with his daughters and grandkids.

Wayde was a member of New Castle Bible Church in Mackinaw and started the Ironmen Breakfast Ministry. He loved to smoke meat and cook for men in his shed on Saturday mornings. Wayde had many good relationships formed over food. He said, "If you have food and bacon, men will show up." Proverbs 27:17 Iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.

Wayde will be greatly missed by his family, friends and the community.

Cremation rites have been accorded.

A celebration of life service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 27, 2025, at New Castle Bible Church in Mackinaw, with Pastor Scott Gnuse. There will be a meal following the service at the church. There will be no visitation.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Living Alternatives Pregnancy Center or the Ironmen Men's Ministry at New Castle Bible Church.

I will truly miss Wayde. You can´t beat having your mechanic as your next door neighbor, but I especially enjoyed our chats whenever I would drop off and pick up my vehicles. And boy oh boy, if we would get to talking about muscle cars, my wife would wonder if I got lost on the way!
In fact, my message with him less than a month ago was about Corvettes. I´ll also miss hearing his guitar playing on the weekends. I´d text him saying "such and such sounds pretty good from over here," and he´d reply with "I´m just happy it was recognizable!"
Wayde was a salt of the earth guy and an honest mechanic.
My heart goes out to his wife and the entire family. I know he´ll be terribly missed.
