Ronald Carl Lachman
June 20, 1942 - March 5, 2025
Ronald Carl Lachman, age 82, of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2025. Born and raised in Castle Shannon, Ron found his roots in his community in Bethel Park.
Ron was a man of deep faith, spending his Saturdays at Mass at Saint Valentine Church (now Our Lady of Hope Parish). Though a man of few words, his life spoke volumes about love, commitment, and quiet strength. He cherished three extraordinary moments above all others: the day the love of his life, Betty, said yes to his proposal, the birth of his son, Ronald Jr., and the decision to join General Electric, where he worked with pride and precision for over 30 years as an electrical motor repairman.
Although he was a humble man, Ron possessed remarkable abilities. Without ever watching a single YouTube video or relying on GPS, he could fix anything and find his way anywhere. His Army Reserve service was a testament to his devotion to his country, and he found joy in the peaceful retreats at his camp in Brockway, PA. Known for his calm, steady demeanor, Ron was a hero in the quietest and most profound ways.
Ron was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elizabeth "Betty" Lachman, and his parents, Wilbur and Clara Lachman (Huber). He is survived by his son, Ronald Jr., and daughter-in-law, Keri, his loving sisters, Janet Russell and Lois Berroth; his brother, Russell Lachman; and his cherished sisters-in-law, Millie Simmen and Lorraine Zilka.
Though Ron never drank, never swore, and never sought the spotlight, his life was a beacon of love and integrity. We take comfort in the belief that he has found his way to be with Betty once again, building a place in heaven for all who love him.
Friends and Family are welcome on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Beinhauer-Connell Funeral Home, 5120 West Library Avenue, Bethel Park, PA 15102, 412-835-7940. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Hope Parish, St. Valentine Church. Interment to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
