Ron was born, November 18th 1949, in Omaha, Ne. to George and Lorraine Lakin. He grew up in Omaha with his brother Don, and graduated from Omaha South High School in 1967.
On June 20th 1970 he married Patricia Mucha. During 18 years of marriage, they had four children, Susan, Lisa, Ronnie and P.J.
On September 6th 1991, He married Nikki and gained a daughter, Kira, who he loved as his own. His love of motorcycles and cars led him to do
autobody repair and painting, which he did with his brother as a family business. Ron and his brother Don were inseparable throughout their lives, and were well known
to the community as "Ron and Don, the Lakin Brothers". Everyday they hung out for a couple beers after work at their favorite neighborhood bars. Every morning, they
would pick up a newspaper and head to their mothers to visit, read the newspaper, and drink coffee before heading to work, until the day she passed away in 1999.
He also started going to Louis M's in the morning to help them set up for breakfast and stayed for coffee and sometimes breakfast with friends.
Aside from his morning routines, he enjoyed time with his wife Nikki, cooking, watching movies and favorite tv shows, as well as playing with their cats. Those who knew him well,
knew he loved good gossip stories. The most bizarre, the better, so he could get a good chuckle. He had his own funny, over the top stories as well. It left you wondering
if they were true or not. He loved the "shock and awe" reaction from whomever would listen.
There will be no funeral Service
Celebration of life at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations are appreciated to help Nikki with final arrangement costs.

Ron, I just learned that you passed. My gosh, a lot of memories with you and Don. Semaphore for a beer or two, or three, stopping in at your body shop and shooting the bull with you and Don. I wish I would have kept closer contact with you. I miss those days. You will be missed.
