Ronald "Ron" Harrison Lowe, age 76, passed away at home surrounded by loved ones on January 10, 2024 in Elizabeth City, NC. Born on September 2, 1947 in Crawfordville, IN, Ron was the son of the late Robert F. Lowe and Betty Zahn Callahan. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Donald Lowe and William Callahan and his step-father, William J. Callahan. He was a board member for CFAC and Trillium. Ron was instrumental in getting CIT Crisis Intervention Training started through the local sheriff and police departments. He touched many lives and was always willing to help people in need, never wanting credit for his acts of kindness. To sum him up, Ron equipped people with life skills and planted seeds of wisdom to help them succeed.
Ron will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by his surviving family and friends, including his brother, James Callahan and wife Candace; close friend, Stefanie Surman; nieces, Amber Curles, Dawn Callahan Pledger, Shannon Standridge, and Brooke Wallace; and nephews, Rustin Callahan, Eric Callahan, and Dustin Lowe.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Twiford Memorial Chapel with Chaplain Steve Shanks officiating. The family will greet visitors immediately following the service at the funeral home. Ron's service will be live streamed.
