Ronald Dennis Lyons Sr (Neldo), age 81, passed away on February 19, 2025, surrounded by his family and friends.
Ronald was born November 23, 1943, in Soboba, CA., to William and Amy Lyons.
Ronald was a tribal member of the Morongo Band of Mission Indians.
He lived his entire life on the Reservation.
He attended Banning Schools.
He was married to Virginia Lyons for fifty years until Her passing in 2019.
Ronald worked at the Banning Shirt Factory when he was young.
He worked for Quality Masonite for many years.
He was also employed at Margaret Drury Construction for a time.
He worked as a janitor for Ahmium Education.
Ronald was a Supervisor at Casino Morongo for many years.
Growing up Ronald attended Morongo Moravian Church and also New Creation Church in Banning.
He was Morongo Planning Commissioner in 1997 and received an award for his dedication and untiring hardwork in the opening of the Morongo Shell Gas Station.
Ronald loved to play baseball. He coached the Morongo Mens and Womens Softball teams.
Ronald loved to restore old cars. He liked working outdoors and has raised many farm animals in his life.
He liked watching sports and cowboy movies.
He loved to listen to anything Elvis Presley.
He enjoyed traveling with the Morongo Elders program.
Ronald enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and other family members and old friends.
Ronald will be missed by many.
Ronald is survived by His Daughter Keri Lyons, Son Ronald Lyons JR, Granddaughters Ilunna Alawa and Bethany Lyons, Grandson Ronald Lyons III, Brother Donald Lyons ( Marsela). Sisters Helen Lyons and Anita Soza (Ed). God Daughter Dondi Silvas, God sons Raymond Porter and Sean Ruiz.Nephews Jeremy Cervantes(Carissa) and Gabe Lyons(Courtney). Neice Destiny Garcia(Bobby). Sister in law Joanna Ruiz(Norman), Terry Becerra(Joe), Yvonne Slivas (Charles) and many nieces and nephews.
Ronald was preceded by his wife Virginia Lyons, Parents William and Amy Lyons,Brother Albert Lyons and sister Annie Pike.
