Ronald Keith MacNaughton
May 10, 1947 – June 20, 2025
Ronald Keith MacNaughton passed away peacefully at his home on June 20, 2025, after a courageous three-year battle with cancer. Born in Lansing, Michigan, on May 10, 1947, to Keith and Dorothy MacNaughton, Ron was a proud graduate of Grand Ledge High School, Class of 1965.
Ron's enduring legacy will always be his profound love for his farm and his family-a passion that spanned three generations. Those who knew him will fondly remember the comforting sight of Ron walking up from the cow barn, climbing down from a tractor, or standing at the door, ready with a warm hug-a quintessential welcome to anyone who visited his home. Time spent at MacNaughton Farms was time spent with Ron's heart and soul, and it made every day brighter.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Keith and Dorothy MacNaughton; his sister, Janet Way; and his in-laws, Lee and Nita Pitney.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Jill; his son, Jeff (Christina) MacNaughton; and his cherished granddaughter, Lindsay MacNaughton. He also leaves behind his brother-in-law, Jim (Joanne) Pitney; brother-in-law, Don (Diane) Way; nephew, Eric (Cheryl) Way; nieces, Cindy Way, Leslie Bek, and Mary Lynne (Rodney) Young Teresa Nelson, Tamara Pitney, Tricia Smith-Mulder; and several dear grand-nephews and grand-nieces. A special place in the family's heart is held by Larry Bishop and his family-lifelong friends who became part of the MacNaughton family.
A Celebration of Life will be held on July 27, 1:00-4:00PM at MacNaughton Farms in Grand Ledge, Michigan.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the University of Michigan Health–Sparrow Hospice staff for their compassionate care and support during Ron's final journey

My husband and I first met Mr. MacNaughton back in 1981. We were renting the old house kitty corner from him from Ilene Hovey. He and sometimes his dad Kieth would come over to feed Ilene´s barn cats and he would exchange pleasantries and occasionally have a nice little chat. We weren´t there very long and hadn´t seen him for a lot of years. We still thought of him often and would always look as we passed the farm to see if he was outside. I would also see if any calfs were out, I loved to watch them romp around. When I started working at the bank in Mulliken, I was so happy to see him come in! He never came in there without a big smile on his face. We would occasionally have a nice little chat, he told me how many calf´s they had and then would come in and tell me when they were going to be put out so that I could look for them and again watch them romping around. My love and support go out to his family and friends. He was a very kind man and will definitely be missed.
