Connell Funeral Home, Inc.Ronald B. Madison, 92, of Bethlehem, passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at St. Luke's Hospice House. Born on December 25, 1932, raised in Shaker Heights, OH, he was the son of the late William J. and Sarah (Brahler) Madison.
Ron earned an undergraduate degree in civil engineering from Lehigh University. He earned a master's degree in civil engineering from the University of Washington; and a doctorate of philosophy in civil engineering and metallurgy from Lehigh University. Ron was a teacher and researcher; his career led him to management positions in the steel and utility industries. Following his retirement, Ron set out on a new career and he began writing children's books which eventually became his true passion.
Ron was a faithful member of Notre Dame of Bethlehem Church. Above all, Ron will be remembered by all those who knew and loved him as a true family man. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
Ron will be dearly missed by his wife of 68 years, Meg Madison; four children, Michael and his wife, Mary Catherine, Katherine and her husband, Steve, Ronald and his wife, Catherine, and Mary and her husband, Neal; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Ron is preceded in death by his son, David and brother, William Madison, Jr.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 from 6-8:00 p.m. at Connell Funeral Home, Inc., 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018. Another visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 from 10-11:00 a.m. at Notre Dame of Bethlehem Church, 1861 Catasauqua Rd., Bethlehem, PA 18018 with a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 11 a.m. inside the church. Burial will be held privately for Ron's family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Notre Dame of Bethlehem Church, St. Luke's Hospice House, or Hanover Township Volunteer Fire Company.
