Ronald L. Maynard

Ronald L. Maynard, 89, of Jackson Township, passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2023. Ron was born on July 10, 1933, in Canton, the son of the late Donald and Doreen (Mobberly) Maynard. He was a 1951 graduate of Timken High School. He was a proud United States Army veteran and served our country during the Korean War. He worked for Fred Olivieri Construction Co. retiring after 30 years of service. He was also a member of Local 285. Ron was a car enthusiast and restored classic cars. He also enjoyed golfing, as well as hiking and camping. Ron was a Sunday School teacher at First Christian Church in Canton.
Along with parents, he was preceded in death by his infant son, Dale, and his sister Barbara Hisey.
He is survived by his wife, Retta (Rooney) Maynard with whom he shared 65 years of marriage; children, Doreen (Jim) Marazita, Denise Maynard, and Jerry (Kathy) Maynard; grandchildren, Vincent (Allison) Marazita, Daniel Marazita, and Lydia Marazita.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 23, 2023, from 6-8 p.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. A Celebration of Ron's life will be held on Friday, March 24, 2023, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Inurnment will follow at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.
